Currently we have a traditional worship
service that meets at 9:00 a.m. each week! Beginning
September 9th, 2007 we will have two services
each Sunday, at 9:00 am and 11:01 a.m.
What’s the Goal?
The focus of all of our worship services is to connect with
God and one another! The goal is to support and encourage
every person in their unique journey of faith. As God’s
children we are created to worship God. We were also created
with a wide variety of uniqueness and differences. There are
many, many styles of worship to God throughout this vast world.
The various styles of worship in North America can be greatly
different from the styles of worship in the continent of Africa;
South America; or Asia. Even within the campus of Friedens
Church, we have diverse styles and formats of worship. Distinct
forms or approaches to worshipping God are not better or worse
in God’s eyes---they are just different…all seeking
that connection to God and one another!
Traditional Worship: 9:00 am
The trademark of Friedens Church has always been
its loving and caring, inclusive congregation and worship
services. Friedens has a long-standing (111 years) history
of meaning-filled, joyful services of traditional worship
in which the message relates time-held Biblical principles
to the challenges of contemporary living. Loving congregation
members participate in enthusiastic singing of great hymns
of the church, both past and present. Timeless choral
and instrumental music are led by the Chancel Choir with
special music being presented by our minister of music,
Nathan Villarreal. A weekly children's sermon and Children's
Church are offered! Cheerful nurseries are provided for
infants and pre-schoolers by well-trained, back ground
checked, CPR certified nursery workers. |

New Connections
At New Connections you
will find relaxed worship—no need to dress up—its
come as you are! Contemporary in style, New Connections
takes God’s eternal Word and presents it in new
and innovative ways through inspiring and high energy
music, multi-media technology, film clips, meaningful
and often humorous drama! New Connections links Bible-based
preaching with contemporary life application through
innovative and interactive messages! In New Connections,
we dream that God will continue to use this worship
experience as a vehicle to reach those who are the un-churched;
searching for a church; or coming back to the church.
We also dream that the discipleship of those who regularly
participate will be increased as we serve and grow closer
to God. We dream that we will make a connection with
God and with one another!
Refreshments and opportunities for fellowship are offered
before the service, and cheerful nurseries are provided
for infants and preschoolers by well-trained, background
checked, CPR certified, loving professionals.
God calls us to a relationship with Him and with each
other—it is our prayer that both happen during
this hour. Come make a new connection with God and with
someone new at Friedens United Church of Christ!
