Friedens (Peace) United Church of Christ strives to be a church that is steep in deeds, not in creeds! We want an Outreach oriented congregation with a special mind to those “Jesus called the least of these” in our local community, United Church of Christ Missions as well as the world at large. Listed below are several of the Outreach opportunities we are involved with. Instead of getting involved in the latest political or religious debate regarding theological differences, we chose to simply go about the business of Matthew 25 which is quite simply, taking care of the least of these, and in doing so, we are building God’s Kingdom here on earth (thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!)

• The Christian Cupboard of Guadalupe County: Ongoing food collections are supplied by church members to the local food pantry to given to those in need. We have been designated as the “Cereal and Canned Fruit Church” for this ministry.
     
• Guadalupe Valley Habitat For Humanity: Here we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by participating in local community, result driven ministry such as working with the local Habitat for Humanity Chapter. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income families in need to build simple, decent and affordable homes. Habitat homes are sold to qualifying families at no profit and are financed with interest-free mortgages. In place of a down payment, homeowner families invest 500 hours of their own labor, called "sweat equity," in the construction of their homes
     
• Child Protective Services Rainbow Room:
  - Ongoing donations of supplies needed to assist case workers in helping families qualify to keep their children in their homes. We have been designated as the “Cleaning Supplies Church” for this ministry.
     
  - During the Christmas holiday season we host an “Angel Tree” for children served by Child Protective Services. We provide gifts and wrappings based on their own wish lists. Their parents wrap the gifts and present them to them.
     
• Slumber Falls: Ongoing contributions to promote a ministry of the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ which promotes outdoor ministry for adults and children.
     
• Eden Home: Ongoing contributions to promote a ministry of the United Church of Christ for the care of aging and medically challenged individuals .
