Frequently Asked Questions

What curriculum do you use? 
Our teachers use the Mississippi State University Early Childhood Institute Curriculum to direct them in completing their activity plans.  The curriculum follows a monthly theme format (seasons, senses, community helpers) with activities and lessons planned with the monthly theme as the guide.

Do you provide meals?
No, we ask the parents to provide nutritious food for their children.  We feel that the parents know best what their children prefer to eat.  If your child is here all day you need to provide a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.  Please try to make the meal as easy to eat as possible and cut everything into bite size pieces because of the possible choking hazard.  Grapes must be cut in half.

Can my child just go for ½ a day or for just a few days a week? 
Yes, your child may attend as few as one day a week or up to 5 days a week.  You may also want to have your child stay just for the morning several days a week.  We want Friedens Early Learning Academy to meet your family's needs.

Does my child need to be potty trained? 
No, we have children that are in diapers, partially trained and fully toilet trained.  We will work with you in the process of training your child.

How many children will be in my child's classroom?
The number of children in your child's classroom may vary from day to day.  We have several children that come to school just a few days a week.  There will never be more than 10 children in one group in the classroom. 

Do you take "drop-ins"? 
Yes, we take "drop-ins" if there is room in the classroom for them on the day requested.  All "drop-in" students must pay the registration fee and have the registration packet complete.  "Drop in" students are charged by the day and must pay on the day the child stays.
