WELCOME TO FRIEDENS EARLY LEARNING ACADEMY

Our History
Friedens Church was founded in 1896, by Reverend A. Kypfer and has been an important part of the Geronimo community ever since.  Over the years, many children have attended Sunday school in the education building that was built in 1955.  In the fall of 2006, Pastor John Roberts became the minister at Friedens with a vision of growth and lead the congregation in a capital campaign and renovation of the classrooms and activity center. In January of 2009, Friedens Early Learning Academy was opened as a two day a week “mother’s day out” program after many months of preparation by Bonnie Neumann, Barbara Pape, Sally Evans and Pastor John. In the fall of 2009, Bonnie and Barbara became co-directors of Friedens Early Learning Academy. The program then expanded to five days a week and went through the necessary steps to achieve state licensing by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.  In the summer of 2011, an elementary school age program was added and continues with an after-school program provided for children from Navarro ISD.

Our Mission
The mission of Friedens Early Learning Academy is to provide a safe and loving environment that allows all children in our care to experience growth intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually. 

Curriculum and Activities
Welcome to Friedens Early Learning Academy!  We are so proud of our facility, our staff, our families and our programs.  We serve the Geronimo, Seguin, New Braunfels and San Marcos communities.  Our children range in age from 18 months to Pre-Kindergarten. We have registration year round, when there are openings.  Each classroom is small with low teacher/ student ratio.  Our teachers and childcare staff are experienced and enjoy their chosen field of teaching. The teachers use a curriculum called Fun Shine Express check out their website at www.funshineexpress.com.
We also provide an after school program for children from Kindergarten through Fifth grade.  We call it FAST (Friedens After School Time).  The children ride a bus from Navarro ISD and stay with us until their parents arrive before 6pm.  This age group also comes to us for a SUMMER PROGRAM.  The summer program is taught by certified teachers and includes crafts, reading incentive programs, science projects, physical activity, social skills and manners.
