A “free-will donation” will be taken instead of a registration fee in order to help cover the cost of providing a FULL MEAL to each child each night at Vacation Bible School.

Financial Support Building The Kingdom of God

More than anything, Jesus prayer was that we as Christians would partner with God in making up there come down here-“thy will be done, thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” There are many ways we can achieve that, our prayers, our physical presence and actions, our service and work, and finally our financial gifts!

This year will be a pivotal year in the life of Friedens (Peace) United Church of Christ! We are seeking God’s dreams as we look towards several new ambitious ministry programs such as beginning a Christian Day School, developing a contemporary service, radically improving our multimedia/audio capabilities, redevelopment of our Youth Program, and greatly expanding our Bible study/fellowship opportunities! All of this of course, takes financial resources.

Matters of one's money tend to set the bodily juices flowing quicker than anything. A threat to that money will send those juices into a flood," says Bob Slosser, author of Miracle in Darien. Martin Luther echoes this sentiment as he once said, "there are three areas of conversion for each Christian: the head, the heart, and the wallet, and the wallet is always the last to go!" We don't dwell on money here at Friedens (Peace) United Church of Christ but we do aim for all partners to "grow into tithing!" That means, each year we ask our partners to commit to a certain percentage and grow accordingly until they reach the Biblical mandate of tithing or giving ten percent to making up there (God's kingdom, God's will) a reality down here (your will be done on earth!)

Exciting and new things are happening at Friedens! Lives are changing each day.
